 ASLA mission & goals

ASLA’s vision is a world where the built and natural environments coexist in harmony and sustainable balance and where the profession can substantively contribute to the process of achieving these ends. ASLA’s mission is to lead, educate and participate in the careful stewardship, wise planning and artful design of our cultural and natural environments; to define and promote an  ethic that supports responsible development, restores and conserves natural resources, respects cultural heritage and improves quality of life. ASLA seeks to accomplish this mission through education, influencing public policy and providing exemplary professional practice.
